This DIY Seattle backyard wedding is what happens when a nutritionist meets a builder.
Bela and Nick were wed last summer at Nick’s childhood home in Lakebay, WA. This is the home in which he grew up, in the midst of acres and acres of Northwest forests right next to the water. Nick has many stories of what he did spending his days fishing in the creeks and just wandering about these woods. What a magical way to grow up!
Thank you fellow vendors for helping put together this DIY Seattle backyard wedding – it really was a lovely work of art!

The view from Nick’s childhood home.
Bela and Nick built that deck around the huge maple in that picture on the right with their own hands!
Bela’s bouquet from Bash and Bloom is made of all sorts of greens, berries and vegetables!
The lovely Bela and Nick in the forests of his youth!
Lavender for celebratory confetti – eco friendly versus paper or rice!
The menus on the bread sleeves are my favorite! Such a clever idea.
Because Bela and Nick had guests all corners of the world, they had flag stickers made so guests can stick them on to say where they’re from. Isn’t that clever?
Mini aubergines as centerpieces – who would’ve thought? So pretty.
Bela and Nick had plants, herbs and vegetables as their centerpieces to reflect Bela’s profession as a nutritionist, which she is SUPER passionate about.
Scrumptious dinner by Ravishing Radish!
This is a special Brazilian tradition – a bouquet of “saints”. I forget what the name of the Saint was, but when tossed, each one comes off so all the single ladies have a chance instead of just one!
