When I first met Julie and Neel to talk photography for their wedding at the Four Seasons Seattle (via the wonderful Michelle Bernard, wedding planner extraordinaire, one of the very best here in Seattle, hire her today!), I fell instantly in love.
First off, they’re Star Trek fans. That itself was a done deal. Secondly, they had this casual chemistry between them that made them SUPER lovable. I wanted to drop everything and document them right away. Neel is this gentle Indian guy whose smile never seems to leave his face. As he speaks, Julie watches him with this warm and when he looks to her for confirmation, she grins as though she got caught staring. It’s sweet and romantic and gives you all the jellies, but in a good way.
Two cultures, two ceremonies
Julie and Neel, with Michelle’s help, pulled off one of the most vibrant and colorful weddings of the year. Held at the Four Seasons in downtown Seattle, replete with a Hindu ceremony, a bhangra entrance by Neil in a rickshaw, with his groomsmen, and after that was an American ceremony with an officiant. To cap it all of, there was a Taiko drum performance by Seattle Matsuri Taiko. It was just insane!
Thanks SO much, guys, for putting your trust in me. Not only did my second shooter Kip Beelman and I have the time of our lives documenting such a festive occasion, we truly appreciate how generous and welcoming you and your families were to us during the whole experience. It was an honor and a pleasure!
