Megan and Jay’s Rosario Resort Wedding on Orcas Island was a splendid yet intimate celebration with their closest friends and family. Introduced by my good friend Tiffany Burke, Megan and Jay’s day was one for the memory books. An emotional first look near the lavender rimmed pond, to Jay rocking out at the end of the night with the band – these folks know how to throw a party. This wedding was also the reason I had quite the adventure of my own both going into the wedding and on my way out. Let’s just say it will be one I will remember for the rest of my life! As naturalized immigrants currently acting as custodians to this land, we continue to learn, acknowledge and recognize the history of physical and cultural genocide and settler colonialism, which continues to displace Indigenous people today. We would like to also recognize these lands, waters, and their significance for the resilient and wise peoples who continue to thrive in this region today despite the consequences of displacement and broken treaties.
