Let’s Talk About Privacy and Your Photos

Wedding speech moments at The Ruins Seattle. Photographed by Seattle Wedding Photographer JENN TAI

I love sharing wedding photos. It’s how new clients find me, whether through blog posts, social media or venue tags. My pricing assumes I can showcase some of your images in my portfolio, journal, or social media.

But I get it. In light of AI and deep fakes, many of our clients are increasingly more guarded about their privacy and presence online. You might not want a Google search of your name or Google Lens search pulling up emotional or intimate moments from your big day. Totally fair.

Here’s how I typically use photos and the privacy options available so we can find what works for you:

Name Searchability

If you’re a doctor, teacher, attorney, or just privacy-conscious, you might not want your name linked to your photos.

Good news:

•I never use last names
•I usually use first names, but can use just initials if you’d like (e.g., A&B)

Potentially Embarrassing or Sensitive Photos

Worried I might post a moment you’d rather not see online? You’re not alone – it’s all about trust.

Here’s my approach:
•I only share photos I genuinely think you’ll love
•I avoid unflattering or overly intimate images
•If I ever post something that makes you uncomfortable, just say the word—I’ll take it down, no questions asked.

Image Pre-Approval

Want to review every image before it goes online? That’s totally doable. Please refer to our Table of Options below.

VIP Wedding Guests

Got a public figure or celeb at your wedding? I’ve got you covered. I can add language to your contract to protect their privacy and ensure no images are sold or shared.

Full Privacy

For clients who need total discretion:
•Full Lockdown: No images shared anywhere.
•People Privacy: I only share decor shots, no guests or couple
