A Historic Wedding Venue with Unmatched Views

The Admiral House weddings: Annie and Jeff wedding reception

This historic landmark property is a dream wedding venue in Seattle. Perched on the Southeast corner of Magnolia, the Admiral’s House overlooks Elliott Bay and boasts an unobstructed view of the Seattle city skyline, including the iconic Space Needle and the majestic Mt. Rainier. No wonder why it’s one of Seattle’s most sought-after wedding venues with a view. This award-winning venue not only boasts the best view of the bay but prides itself as a historic landmark property has been a residence to over thirty U.S. Naval Admirals and their families. It has been used for formally entertaining government, military officials, foreign dignitaries, and royalty.

A little history as provided by Admiral’s House official website:

The house and property were built by the United Sates Navy in 1944 to serve as the residence for the Admirals of the 13th Naval District on Pier 91 in Seattle. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout the years, over thirty U.S. Naval admirals and their families have resided in the house. Written and authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America’s historic and archeological resources. The National Parks states “The residence is a primary symbol of the major role that the U.S. Navy played in Seattle from World War II until the 1990s. It was not only the home of the commanding admiral and his family but was a center for official government entertaining. Until its closure in 2006, nearly 1,000 visitors were entertained annually, including royalty, foreign dignitaries and military and government leaders. The house is also one of the few remaining physical reminders of the importance of Seattle to the World War II effort and of the vital role that the war and the military played in the city’s growth and development.”
