Frequently Asked Questions | Jennifer Tai Photo Artistry

How many weddings do you shoot each year?

I try not to book over 25 to keep my vision and style fresh—and to keep from creatively burning out!

What is your photography style?

I specialize in artistic form of documentary wedding photography, providing a mix of fine art portraiture with organic, candid shots as your wedding day progresses especially during the Getting Ready, Ceremony, and Reception portions of the day.

Who will be your second photographer?

I rely on a select group of fellow Seattle professional photographers. We are a tight-knit group of experienced, professional business-owners. All of us have over five years of wedding photography experience.

What file type do you photograph in? RAW or JPG?

Since I shoot partly film, those images are devliered as high-resolution JPG scans. For my digitals, I shoot in RAW and deliver in high-resolution, finished JPGs.

Do you bring back-up equipment?

Definitely! I bring at least four camera bodies with me to any wedding, not including the equipment my second shooter has, and a myriad of the best professional lenses money can buy. All in all, we are looking at $20k worth of gear each time we head out!

Would you travel to photograph our wedding?

Most assuredly. We travel internationally!

How do we book?

First, let’s meet! Photography is so much more than numbers—it’s chemistry! At our consult, we will get to know each other, and we will also discuss packages and look at albums. If everything looks good, I’ll send you an online proposal. All paperwork is completed online, including payment if you desire. A non-refundable retainer of 50% of the total price is required to secure your date, with the remainder due 14 days before your beautiful wedding.
